basement is situated in the cellar of a Georgian Terrace on the corner of Hope Street and Huskisson Street at the edge of the city centre. It runs the length of the building, consisting of a series of brick rooms and ante-rooms. Each room has stone floors and various types of brick as changes to the building have decreed over time giving each showing space its unique character. It is a labyrinth whose atmosphere, mystery and histories are felt by all who visit.
