Part Three: The Event (Sat 9th September at Lovelocks)
Project Lovebomb originated from an experience of being lovebombed into an abusive relationship and aims to reclaim “lovebombing” from being something negative to something positive to make something good out of a negative experience, that not only benefits me but others too.
This a charity fundraiser for WHISC (The Women’s Health Information & Support Centre) hopes to raise money for workshops with abuse survivors.
The event will include:
- 5 musicians (Giorgia Bortoli, Lydia Rowlands, Samya, Bella Wright and Nicola Hardmans)
- 5 performers (performance artist Hassnat Sikander, comedienne Marigold Lately, spoken word by Katie Usher and 2 more (TBC) )
- A compere (Queen of Heartbreak who comperes Secret Circus)
- 10 artists, not including me (illustrator/maker Sasha Spyrou, illustrator/activist Lo Tierney, painter Sarah Armstrong, photographer Rachel Wonders, illustrator/maker Jade Muat Dodd, sign painter/artist Dave Wakely, text-based artist Orla Jude, fine artist Emms Coyle, painter Jennie Wishart and fine artist Emilie Slade)
- work from Project Lovebomb will also be exhibited
- We also have some writers that have submitted work including crime thriller writer Jay Darkmoore who uses his experiences of being in an abusive relationship to inform his characters
Ahead of the event, there is an open playlist on Spotify, “Project Lovebomb: the mixtape”, if people want to check out the musicians that will be performing.
All money raised from ticket sales will go towards the fundraiser. We will also have a raffle with prizes including lovebomb kits and donations from local artists such as prints, t-shirts, and jewellery.
