**Residency timetable to be confirmed
The Revisited residency project focuses on using photography to explore and reimagine our relationships with spaces, addressing both political and personal power dynamics. The project will co-create and co-curate a visual exploration of how we interact with, understand, and emotionally connect to various spaces. Drawing inspiration from Yi-Fu Tuan’s Space and Place, the residency will explore the distinction between space (the physical environment) and place (our emotional and subjective connections to these environments). Through photography and personal mapping, the project aims to create new histories and foster a deeper dialogue about personal and collective identities.
Revisited aims to address the unique challenges faced by port cities, such as shifting economic landscapes and the preservation of local heritage. By engaging diverse community members and focusing on intergenerational storytelling, the project fosters dialogue and reimagines the relationship between people and their environments.
Additionally, it provides a platform for discussing social justice and power dynamics through the medium of photography.
About Metal Liverpool:
In Liverpool, Metal is situated at Edge Hill Station, the oldest active passenger railway station in the world. Since renovating the unused building in 2004, we use the space to serve as an artists hub and creative space for the neighbourhood. In the city, we focus on engaging and empowering local people and the diverse communities in the surrounding areas of Edge Hill, Kensington, Wavertree and Toxteth, through art, education and social events.
