A Fall at the Edge of Sleep
Patric Rogers

18 July – 27 July · Boys Brigade Building, Liverpool

Private View, 17th July, 6:30pm

Patric Rogers is a multidisciplinary artist and filmmaker whose practice moves fluidly between sculpture, photography, painting and film. Mining psychogeography, folklore and myth, he investigates the ways memory braids itself to landscape, revealing the unseen narratives that bind us to place.

A Fall at the Edge of Sleep is his most introspective project to date: a meditative journey through a present moment that feels unmoored and elastic, suspended in a hush while the future holds its breath.

To deepen the experience, Rogers has curated a companion playlist of the music that has steadied him amid the restless churn of recent years. A dose of sound for a world waiting to exhale. Slip on your headphones, and choose a pulse. Let the music seep through the gallery, stay a while, wrapped in the echoes that shaped the works creation.

Patric Rogers is part of Material Matters, an artists collective engaged in artistic and curatorial practices that explore the inter-relationship between materiality, aesthetics, and performativity we call ’emotional minimalism.’

About Boys’ Brigade Building:

Located adjacent to Port Sunlight’s iconic Lyceum as part of the original village
school, the Boys’ Brigade Building has been an important place for the
community, most significantly as a home for the Boys’ Brigade and the Lyceum
Brass Band. Transformed for gallery use this summer, the building is open to conversations with cultural groups and artists beyond the festival. Details here.
