Let Me In
Elodie Horsewell

Birch Studios and Gallery, Birkenhead

PV: 26th August, 6pm – 8pm
Open: 27th August – 30th August, 12pm – 4pm

Let me in is an exhibition I have made because I couldn’t make anything else. Let me in is an exhibition that treads a line between anxiety and hope. Let me in is an unapologetically trans exhibition, because it feels like it means something right now to be trans and to take up space.

Let me in is an exhibition of drawing, sound, sculpture and poetry. Let me in is an interventional, activistic and psychogeographic exhibition. Let me in is an exhibition about finding comfort and community in the wake of recent political violence levied against trans people. Let me in is an exhibition about the supreme court ruling, about feeling trapped in public bathrooms, about being denied bodily autonomy. Let me in is an exhibition about trying to make art and about not being able to find my voice.

About the artist

Elodie Horsewell (She/Her) is an emerging artist, writer and curator.

Within her multidisciplinary body of work, she poetically ruminates on political climates, psychogeography, language and sensory experience, through the lens of her neurodivergent and transgender identity.

Most of her work begins with writing, but branches out into the realms of sound, installation, and sculpture. She is also an activity support worker, a community-arts charity trustee and a founding member of Liverpool based artist collective Marginalia.
