Live performance with Liverpool Shanty Choir and screening of ‘The Surplus Badge’ on 13th September, 2.30pm-4.30pm.
For their new commission, ‘The Long Haul’, Artist A & Artist B have worked with Liverpool Shanty Choir to develop two sea shanties. The shanties narrate the story of Artist A & Artist B’s collaborative artwork, and of precarious pay and working conditions endured by many contemporary artists. The installation and sound recording are part of their wider, ongoing project ‘Statement of Intent’ (2021-) comprising a series of evolving performance, print based and site responsive artworks, constructed from a decommissioned cargo parachute.
Artist A & Artist B is the collective name for Heather Mullender-Ross and Jackie Haynes’ collaborative practice.
