Dandelion Lemonade

Only 3% of UK wildflower meadows are left. Embrace the weeds. Let your garden overgrow. A weed is a flower in the wrong place. Bloom where you are planted.

  1. Pick dandelion flowers in an area free from pesticides + dogs.
  2. Only pick dry, clean + open flowers.
  3. Leave enough for the bees.
  4. Gently wash flowers + put in a mason jar.
  5. Add hot water + a few tablespoons of sugar.
  6. Stir + leave to cool.
  7. Add 1 sliced lemon + steep overnight.
  8. Strain but keep the liquid + flowers.
  9. Put the flowers in an ice cube tray, add water and freeze.
  10. To serve fill a glass with the ice cubes. Pour 2/3 full of lemonade + top up with soda water.
