Sufea Mohamad Noor
Sufea will spend her residency with the Independents Biennial to map out and understand the evolution of diversity and inclusion terminologies used to describe racially marginalised groups. She plans to do this by carrying out academic research, looking at online activism and discussing this topic with PoC as well as allies. Sufea will spend the next three months working at Metal to make text paintings in the studio, informed by her research and conversations. She will also make use of Metal’s kitchen and garden to create a shared experience in a pandemic through making takeaway treats and personally growing bouquets for her collaborators.
