Sorrell Kerrison
Born and raised in North Wales, Sorrell Chrystal Kerrison left her home village to study film at the University of Salford in 2000. Music was Sorrell’s main pursuit for many years, playing guitar and singing in bands. She played in ‘No Plato’ whilst living in London from 2008 – 2012 and playing in ‘Pinot Grigio’ in Bristol until 2016. She also works on solo creations under the name ‘Pluvial’.
Sorrell has created art form in many different mediums, including film, sound and print. However, Sorrell is most known for her complex fauvist style hand embroidery portraiture. Sorrell has had exhibitions in the UK and USA and has four portraits as part of the permanent collections at Bolton Museum, Greater Manchester which are also part of the ArtUK National Art Heritage archive.
Sorrell Kerrison will be in residence as part of the Independents Biennial 2020 Residency opportunity in partnership with Metal.
