Wings of love, Nicole Bartos
A mixed media montage of paintings and small sculptures suspended from the ceiling of the Old Police Station, off Lark Lane, by Nicole Bartos.
The artworks in this exhibition have been a response to the Creative Mind commission topic of ‘relationships and being’, during the 2020-2021 lockdown. The original artworks are a result of mixed media paper collage and manual photo montage using photocopies and then united by and with drawing pen graphics.
There is no digital photo montage or manipulation involved.
The artist has been inspired by some of the archival images, courtesy of James MacRitchie, in relation to the 1970s ‘Natural Dance’, the experimental dance workshops and events. MacRitchie having trained with the experimental icon dancer, Ana Halprin, was one of the pioneers bringing the new trends of experimental ‘Natural Dance’ from the Us to the UK and Europe.
Special viewings:
Part 2: open 26th of June to October 2023 (a montage of artworks suspended from the
