SLIPSTREAM follows a simple score.

• A NUMBER of artists participate.
• YOU define your creative practice in 30 words or less.
• What inspires your work? What themes do you touch on? What questions are you asking? Why do you make art?
• YOU hand over this written piece.
• YOU are assigned another’s definition of their creative practice.
• YOU respond to this definition in your own way.
• Maybe you’ll use your assigned artist’s medium, or incorporate their chosen subject matter in your work. The aim is to push you out of your comfort zone; experimentation is encouraged.
• YOUR response will be exhibited at CBS gallery.

The Ghost Art School presents The Right Map — A constellation of art exhibitions across Liverpool, unfolding under the banner of the Independents Biennial.

Emerging from the spirit of Ghost Art School, celebrating the artists who move between margins, who learn in the cracks, who map their own routes when none are given…

Here, the map is not fixed… Drawn in gestures, erased by time, redrawn again in conversation, in defiance, in care. The Right Map asks not where we are going, but how we move and who gets to move with us.

CBS is a gallery and workspace established in Liverpool  by Joseph Hulme, Liam Peacock & Theo Vass in 2015. The studios were initially set up on Victoria Street with an aim to provide affordable space in the city centre for emerging artists. Now in its second location it comprises of studios, a gallery space &  workshop.

Our public programme is a result of ongoing conversations between the founders, studio members, collaborators and a wider artist-led community in Liverpool and further afield.
