Domes FM started out playing experimental, electronic and underground music with resident and invited DJs. But then we started to persuade visitors, passing through The Observatory, to contribute live audio experiments, chatter and prattle, readings, poetry, YouTube playlist mega mixes, bangers and anti-bangers. Very nice.

Being artist-run, Domes FM takes a pretty ad hoc approach, with no commercial sponsors and a dedicated handful of listeners who we love dearly.

With a preference for both old artefacts and new currents in experimental music, Domes FM supports sounds positioned on the margins of the mainstream. It’s a space for a spectrum of experimentation and learning; Domes FM is a test bed for novices and old hands alike.
